We're just over the hill from the Pub PACKING AND SHIPPING RATES Since most of you order by credit card, we can charge you exactly what UPS or the Post Office charges us, plus $2 to cover the packing materials, with a minimum packing and shipping charge of $3 for orders under $20. In other words, if you order a 50 cent pack of yeast, we're going to charge you $3 to ship it; but if you order $20 worth of yeast, we only charge you actual shipping charges plus $2. This almost pays for the boxes and bubble-wrap. If you live in California, we must charge you 7.25% sales tax on non-food items. Malt, Sugar, Hops and flavoring extracts are non-taxable, and shipments outside California are non-taxable, at least at present. We usually ship UPS the same day the order comes in. Shipments to Alaska, Hawaii, or outside the U.S ., and shipments of liquid yeast go by U.S. mail, or as you instruct us. Orders too large or heavy to go UPS or Postal will be shipped by truck, freight collect. If you're mailing us an order, you can estimate the amount of shipping, and we will refund any overpayment. We can usually give you an accurate estimate of shipping charges over the phone, so give us a call.
